SPARKS FOR EUROPE
beginning was the spirit of adventure or even the spirit of 'conquest' of the most unexplored world, and today no doubt much has changed, you can easily reach every part of Europe and affordable, but obviously this is not true for everyone, and indeed the world has become known and familiar.
But the question arises: what are the opportunities now to travel and experience in Europe? what motivations and what drives? what kind of 'adventure' you are looking for or you live? We
fact that this is now a theme of 'structural' training and learning for a young and we like to welcome you to this blog. We have already done with the Youth Exchange in Vienna in previous posts and continue to do so, thanks to the availability of Donald, a boy who had come Elpidiense more than a year ago Informagiovani for guidance on travel and opportunities in Europe and since then has done more than just an experience in the Old Continent. E 'busy since early January in an EVS project in Turkey. Here is this first exchange, which we hope will be followed up; as well as stories we hope also by other boys travelers: the blog is open for this.
What prompted you to start and have a European experience, in this case in Ireland?
The main reasons that led me to make the trip to Ireland were the ones to meet new people, so new ideas and new ways of interpreting life, in addition to these reasons, the main secondary priority was to learn English language that I think an important key to life and the future. I admit that my expectations in the adventure were very rewarded.
After Ireland, have made a specific trip, and especially a month in Spain (the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela) and now you about to leave for Turkey on a project related to the European Civil Service program. What do you expect the new journey? What do you think can help you more, you young graduate, this sort of 'vocation to travel'?
After Ireland, Spain, the Camino de Santiago I was always fascinated and intrigued as the return from Ireland but had already started to design this kind of experience. I lived in Ireland with the English and is well known that our languages \u200b\u200bare very close, and then in Ireland I had learned a little 'in English, say that I took the ball and I had a good ride! I was almost 2 months. in addition to the French way I took a tour along the coast through the Asturias to the Basque Country.
Turkey is one of those countries where you can find a mix cultures, not by chance that this area is also known as "Eurasia." Say what I expect now is not simple, certainly deepen the discussion on cultural diversity, meeting people "different" from me also try to understand the volunteer living it, and finally go as far as possible this part of the world so hot.
Finally, thinking about potential partners your peers, to say what you feel or maybe even in terms of what recommendations as guidelines for the organization, information, their ability to act, etc, and again: what helps and prepares more or at least to you what has helped you and you was more useful exchange of experiences with other guys? Ask institutional offices and / or ad hoc services and / or associations, even if only for the correct documentation and contacts related site? You have also used virtual space and the Net to gather the right information and useful? And in such case? ... Or at the end must have the courage to start?
When you decide to do an "adventure" abroad, the only thing that matters is the desire and determination to leave, then everything else comes from where, once you clear what you want to do all circumstances and situations are opened and everything becomes easier. Surely offices, internet and the right people and help a lot, but the spark you need to turn on you. Can not find what you need if you do not know what you want.
The current experience in the course of Donato allows us to remember just a great opportunity to discover other cultures: the one offered by the Youth Programme - Action 2 European Voluntary Service actually called:
, EVS offers young people aged 18 to 30 years experience of intercultural learning in an informal context, promotes their social integration and active participation. Young people can do voluntary work in a Programme country or outside Europe, for a period ranging from 2 to 12 months, working as a "European volunteers" in local projects in various sectors or areas: Culture, Youth, sports, social care, cultural heritage, arts, leisure, civil protection, environment, cooperative development, etc.. Excludes high-risk interventions in immediate post-crisis situations (eg humanitarian aid, disaster relief, etc.)..
The project draws on the principles and methods of non-formal. Through this experience young people have the opportunity to come into contact with new cultures, to express solidarity with others and acquire new competencies and skills useful to their personal and professional training.
