THE STEVE MILLER BAND
in concert!
The legendary Steve Miller Band for the first time in Europe after more than 25 years,
new album and a single concert in Italy October 12, 2010 at the Teatro Smeraldo di Milano
One of the most legendary bands of all time in rock music , The Steve Miller Band, published on June 21 near a new album "Bingo!" (On label Roadrunner / Loud & Proud) and for the first time since 1982 he toured Europe for only eight concerts, including the one in Italy, organized by Barley Arts, October 12, 2010 at the Teatro Smeraldo Milan Fan . With over 30 million records sold in over 40 years of his career, the Steve Miller Band with its distinctive blues-rock sound is a constant reference point for lovers of classic rock. And the United States the extraordinary live acts have become an unmissable annual event followed by millions of fans.
Co-produced by Miller, in collaboration with Andy Johns (formerly with Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix), "Bingo!" is the first of two albums drawn from sessions held at Skywalker Ranch, the historic studio of George Lucas. The recordings took advantage of a new partner, Sonny Charles, historical voice of rhythm and blues. They were, however, also the swan song for the "brother harmony" of Miller, Norton Buffalo, harmonica and vocals for 33 years in the band, who died in 2009.
"Bingo!" represents a kind of stylistic recovery of the years between 1964 and 1966, when Miller took his first steps in the blues scene in Chicago, Goldberg shared with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band and the Siegel-Schwall Band. Today, as then, Steve Miller has managed to transform some of the classic rhythm and blues of Jimmie Vaughan, BB King, Jimmy Reed, T-Bone Walker and others, majestic rock performances. Some pieces are enhanced by the flavor of Latin percussion, Michael Carabello, a founding member of the band Santana, and Ace of drums Adrian Areas. While "Rock Me Baby" and "Sweet Soul Vibe" Miller combined his own guitar solos with the equally great Joe Satriani.
The first single from the album, published in digipack version with 10 songs and a special edition with four extra tracks and other benefits, it's "Hey Yeah" written by Jimmie Vaughan and already listening on the site stevemillerband.com. The album cover is the work of another true artist: to Storm Thorgerson, whose work on the album Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd are masterpieces charts. For all practical purposes "Bingo!" Steve Miller is the album that has waited a lifetime to achieve.
Currently on tour in the United States, with a new show designed by Rob Roth, esteemed Broadway director ("Beauty and the Beast"), the next October The Steve Miller Band will make its first appearance in Europe after 25 years and will only 8 concerts, with debut Oct. 7 in London on 18 and end in Amsterdam, rare opportunities to participate in a show destined to become a legend.
